BETSY & WALTER LEONARD
Bohicket Creek, John's Island, South Carolina

This residential project was built on an old tomato farm site, located on 26 acres on deep
water along Bohicket Creek on John’s Island, SC, just outside of Charleston.

The Leonard’s project involved the grading and construction
of three ponds, one of which was to provide the fill to raise the finished floor elevation
of the house by 8 feet so that the house would be out of the 100 year flood plain,
the design of a deck, a creek and waterfall interior to the house, a 1000’ long dock,
a crab dock, a bike path to access all areas of the property, a landscape plan,
and a Plant Care Manual.

We worked with the Leonards for two years in the design development of the project,
collaborating with the architect, the interior designer, the sculptors,
creek contractor, and the landscape contractor to build the project.

PATTY & MARSHALL MILLER
Historic District, Charleston, South Carolina

Sweetgrass Design was retained to review the old landscape of this property and prepare drawings and construction documents, and perform construction observation for the improvements to the property to improve parking and access.  As the property is located in the most important historic district in the city, we worked with Historic Charleston Foundation and all the City offices to conform to all regulations.

EDWIN McBRAYER
Atlanta, Georgia

We have done the landscape design for three of Ed's houses in Atlanta, and this house is the latest we have done for him.  Ed wanted a garden that would be perfect for outdoor entertaining, as well as for providing respite after a long days work, that would be low maintenance, be colorful with perennials, and allow a space for Roxie, the black lab.
