Sweetgrass Design is a full service landscape architectural firm located in Charleson, South Carolina and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We have been in business since 1989, and enjoy working with design teams to create the best projects for our clients. We specialize in creating sustainable projects that focus on working with the land forms, native plants and habitat creation.

Sweetgrass Design is committed to developing projects that are on budget and respond to the schedules, vision and needs of our clients. We take pride in working with the entire team, of engineers, architects, sculptors, regulatory officials, and all stakeholders to create projects that give the client more than they had envisioned, and projects that are sensitively built, with consideration for celebrating the natural environment.
COMPANY HISTORY
Sara Edi graduated from the University of Georgia in 1989, and began her first firm, Livingston and Associates. In 1992, she opened Wildflowers & Wetlands a design firm that was hired to do work for the 1996 Committee of the Olympic Games, and Walt Disney World.
When the Olympics opened in July of 1996, she moved to Denver. Colorado, where she joined and then became president of MDG, Inc. In 2004, Sara moved back to the South, and opened Sweetgrass Design. During the years in Colorado, she worked with Jeff Lormand and Shaun Gordon, who are part of Sweetgrass Design today.
