Sara Edi, while with her former firm, Wildflowers & Wetlands, introduced a new concept to Disney Development Company for Wilderness Lodge, where all areas to be landscaped with flowers were done exclusively with perennial wildflowers. This allowed for all plants to be installed once, without change-outs. Sara Simmons-Fife, on behalf of Disney Development Corporation, contracted with growers for Disney over 12,000 wildflower plants for this project, and performed construction administration.
Further, she provided the Disney Horticulture staff a maintenance guide to assist with plant management.
The Disney Institute is a learning facility and hotel where classes are taught by professionals on a variety of subjects relating to the Disney experience. Sara Edi consulted with the Disney design team on all matters relating to gardening at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Some of the design issues dealt with demonstration garden areas, outdoor classroom requirements, literature needs and course offerings.
